01 · Overview
SAFAR is a concept project for a high-end restaurant whose digital presence had to match the cinematic quality of its room — menu, reservation and photography treated with the same care as the plating.
02 · Client goal
Build a brand and website that feel premium in the first 0.5 seconds, while still letting a guest book a table in under a minute.
03 · The challenge
Most luxury restaurant sites read like glorified PDFs — slow, cluttered, and impossible on mobile. The brief asked for cinematic atmosphere AND a frictionless booking flow.
04 · The solution
Led with deep black surfaces, candlelit amber accents and a single serif voice. Reservation flow reduced to three taps. Every screen art-directed around real food photography rather than stock decoration.
05 · Design process
Built a moodboard around late-night film stills and printed menus. Designed a typographic system on a 4pt baseline, then prototyped the reservation flow in Figma with realistic content before any visual polish.
06 · Development process
Built as a fast React site with image preloading on hover, prefetched reservation route, and an accessible date-picker. Lighthouse 98+ on mobile.
07 · Final result
A site that feels expensive immediately and books a table without ceremony. Concept ready for handoff to a real venue.
